A derelict manufacturing site transformed into a modern wholesale cash & carry with a roofing system from Kingspan, combining structural beams, insulated panels and high performance rooflights.
The Project
The former Littelfuse production building had fallen into disrepair since the firm moved its operation to China in 2006. Despite its run-down condition, Ballaghan HOSL Limited saw potential in the Dundalk site and opted to purchase and renovate the building in 2015.
One of the most significant issues with the building was its poorly-insulated roof which had developed a number of leaks over the course of the previous decade. To resolve this, the original structure was stripped back and a Kingspan roofing system was installed featuring Topdek panels and long runs of Kingspan Day-Lite Barrel rooflights. Following a fast-track refurbishment programme, the revitalised building has now been leased by Value Centre Cash & Carry.
